"Sushi in the Sukkah" in Harlem

On Thursday, 17 Tishrei, the first day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos, Chabad of Harlem, NY held a large Sukkos event at City College New York that was attended by more than a hundred students and faculty from the college.

"Sushi in the Sukkah", as it was called, took place in picturesque Beaver Park at the center of the college campus and was sponsored by Rabbi Shaya Gansbourg, Director of Chabad of Harlem, as a continuation of the ongoing Chabad activities at City College and throughout Harlem.

Yossel Gansbourg and Mendy Nagel constructed the sukkah and along with Rabbi and Mrs. Gansbourg and Yossi Margolin, helped over 80 people perform the mitzvah of lulav and esrog. Beautiful Jewish music was provided by Shaya Lieberman and his "Isaiah and the Prophets" band members, Shmuli Lieberman, Yanky Lipsker and Yehudah Rosenberger.

The efforts of the Rabbi and all who helped, assured that "Sushi in the Sukkah" was a beautiful affair. The delicious food, wonderful music, inspiring speeches and pleasant company, drew many hundreds of spectators, and was admired by the Jews and non Jews alike.
